North Dakota is home to world class golf courses including The Links of North Dakota and the Bully Pulpit. The Links of North Dakota has been likened to golfing the British Isles without the transatlantic flight. The Bully Pulpit is a breathtaking course nestled in the North Dakota badlands.

Located just six miles east of the lodge, The Links of North Dakota Golf Course is consistently rated as one of the top courses by golf magazines. The course presents golfers with an authentic links-style golfing experience on the bluffs overlooking Lake Sakakawea.

The Bully Pulpit is located in Medora in the North Dakota Badlands. It was designed in the spirit of President Theodore Roosevelt who spent time in the area on his ranch. The course was ranked number one affordable public course in the nation by Golf Digest magazine for 2005.
The area provides additional golfing opportunities including the Williston municipal course and Eagle Ridge golf club in Williston. Also

Lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River offer some of the best fishing around. The walleye fishing is legendary and in terms of sheer numbers of walleye Lake Sakakawea is second to none. The northern pike are coming back in a big way in Sakakawea. There are numerous fish pushing 8 to 10 pounds already, with many huge fish likely to be caught in the next several years.
In addition to fishing on Lake Sakakawea, dozens of smaller lakes in the area provide many enjoyable outings as well. Kota Ray Dam, Tioga Reservoir, McGregor Dam, Spring Lake Park, and Blacktail Dam offer fishing for trout, perch, walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and rainbow trout.
